The SMI PAS-GT Bullet Resistant Helmet is manufactured using specially woven aramid fabric laminations designed to provide advanced ballistic and fragmentation protection in hostile environments. Compared to traditional steel helmets, the lightweight construction significantly improves comfort during prolonged operational use.
The ballistic performance of the SMI PAS-GT Helmet provides reliable protection against fragments, 9mm pistols, revolvers, and SAF carbines up to a muzzle velocity of 425 m/sec. Despite its enhanced ballistic resistance, the helmet maintains a lightweight profile for improved mobility and reduced fatigue.
An optional SMI Visor (Face Shield) can be attached using a reinforced mounting system designed specifically for PASGT-style helmets. The visor swings up and out of the way when not required, offering protection against impacts, smoke, chemicals, splashes, particulate matter, and fragments.
